Introduction
ProdTrac – the modern, easy-to-use software system for small/medium businesses. Gives valuable help with purchasing, manufacturing and selling operations, while in the background it’s keeping full tracing control of materials.
ProdTrac is a batch management system. Its principle of operation is simple, yet its power to provide information is extremely powerful and time-saving. At the time of receipt or creation, every batch of material – ingredients, packaging or products - is allocated a unique identity number. From that point in time, whenever any of that material is used or allocated (sold), its movement is traced by reference to its identity number.
In this way, ProdTrac can provide immediate information on the history of that material: in forward tracing, an ingredient can be tracked through the operation so that its use and distribution is revealed; in reverse tracing, the components of a product are revealed, and the full history of those component materials in other products can be instantly determined.
This interrogation facility gives the user full control over materials usage, and gives customers complete reassurance that potential problems can be rapidly traced. In the event of a product alert from a customer, the user can give instant information on that product:
· when and how much was produced;
· which batches of ingredients were used;
· when they were purchased;
· who supplied them.
Alternatively, in the event of receiving an ingredient alert from a supplier, the user can instantly see:
· where that ingredient was used in products;
· when and where those products were sent;
· how much stock of ingredient or products still remain in storage.
But materials tracing is only one of ProdTrac’s applications:
· it generates purchase orders;
· ensures that materials can only be purchased from approved suppliers;
· manages and displays a full testing history for materials;
· ensures that only tested and accepted materials can be used in production;
· provides current stock records for all ingredients and products;
· tracks the movement of full or part batches through any part of the business, including off-site locations;
· analyses sales order programmes to forecast production requirements, raw material stocks and purchasing needs;
· creates, issues and maintains daily production plans;
· contains a fully integrated recipe weighing system for the automatic capture of ingredient batch identities and quantities consumed, with real-time stock adjustments;
· makes stock valuation and stock checking a pleasure not a chore;
· generates and manages customer invoices, etc, etc …..
