Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd has withdrawn one date code of Sainsbury's Taste the Difference British Yorkshire Breaded Ham, 140g. The product batch contains egg and wheat but their presence is not declared on the packaging so the product may be a risk to the health of people allergic to egg, gluten or wheat. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations to inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal. Point of sale notices (text reproduced below) are being displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal.

Due to a labelling error some packs of this product do not indicate that they contain traces of wheat gluten and egg.

If you have a wheat gluten or egg allergy, please do not eat this product. Return the product to a colleague at the customer service desk for a full refund.

No other products are affected by this recall, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Dawnfresh Seafoods Limited has recalled a batch of its Frozen Kintyre Breaded Scampi 235g, after the discovery of pieces of glass found in a small number of packets. The affected batch has been withdrawn from sale, and product recall notices (text reproduced below) are being placed in retail stores that have received the product. A customer helpline has also been provided.

No other Dawnfresh Seafoods Ltd products are known to be affected.

Only products with this specific best before date and code are affected.

Affected products should be returned to the store which you purchased the product from for a full refund.

Stobarts (Bradford) Ltd has withdrawn from sale a batch of Ready to Eat Sausage Rolls that contains sulphur dioxide as a preservative but is inadequately declared on the label. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are sensitive to sulphites. The company is also contacting the relevant allergy support organisations, to inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.

Iceland recalls Cocktail Sausage Rolls - packaging error leads to incorrect allergen labelling

Iceland Foods Ltd has recalled one date code of Cocktail Sausage Rolls because the packs may actually contain Cheese &Onion Rolls. As a result of this error, the product may contain celery, gluten from wheat, milk, mustard and sulphites, but these allergens are not declared on the label. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are allergic or intolerant to these allergens.

The affected date code has been removed from sale, and the company has also contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, to inform their at-risk members of the recall. Tesco recalls Oriental Special Fried Rice – incorrect use by date

ProdTrac food software allows you to set the established shelf life for individual products. Then when any batch of product is produced and labelled, the software automatically calculates the durability date to be applied. This date can be amended if you wish, but the program is designed to prevent incorrect date labelling errors.

Tesco Stores has recalled a batch of its own brand Oriental Special Fried Rice, which was given an over-extended use by date in error. An incorrect date of 31 February 2009 was applied instead of 31 January 2009.

The affected batch has been withdrawn and notices have been displayed in stores, to advise customers of the actions to take if they have already purchased the affected batch.

This means the allergen information is incorrect and could pose a potential health risk for consumers with an allergy to peanuts. Consumers allergic to peanuts have been advised not to eat this product.

Waitrose recall Chicken Tikka Masala – undeclared allergens

Waitrose Ltd has recalled specific date codes of its own-label 400g Low Saturated Fat Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice. Some packs may contain Chicken Korma with Pilau Rice in error, meaning that the product would contain cashew nut puree that is not declared on the labelling.
